“DIVINITY”
https://www.reptile-universum.de/re.....O/Divinity.mp3
This is the first track and also the first step into a new world. I wanted to try something purely synthetic... a little bit of RETRO, a hint of SYNTHWAVE, a good portion of "TURRICAN" and all the good stuff I remember from the 80s and 90s!
It's far away from being perfect... but after so many years I wanted to experiment with something new. The orchestral and symphonic compositions of the past have reached their limit and I can’t grow beyond the old limitations. Maybe, this synthetic style will provide some new ideas.
So this is a little experiment... testing my tools and settings. Let's see where it leads me!
A new journey begins now...

Somehow, FA doesn't allow me to upload this simple mp3 file... that's why I'm linking you to my server and the You Tube clip!
Also, I strongly suggest you download the file and listen to the mp3 then... it sounds much cleaner and louder!

Alright, finally was able to take a listen. My thoughts:
First of all, sincere thanks for not resorting to the overused 4x4 rhythm even most modern synthwave does. XDD The drums weren't quite what I was expecting, but then again, I can easily see parallels with Depeche Mode with this composition, who often had strange drum choices too due to their desperation to sound unique once Alan Wilder joined the band.
Anyway, rest assured, I actually listened to the whole thing, which, admittedly, is rare for me to do, because I liked the approach that much. :) If you wish, I can give you production ideas for any future music like this as well, but either way, VERY well done, friend!

Ah yesssssssss, the Synthwave or Futuresynth (Today, it's evolved into "wave").
It makes me fly back to 80s (despite that I was born in early 90s) ^^ And thanks to the music featured in a certain arcade rhythm game and CN's Regular Show, I've grown a LOT of interests and appreciation with the synthwave genre. I imagine how much it's been played in TV's music channels back in the days~
Great work in composing the retro music. I'll keep listening how the song title fits to this tune~ 😄

So first of all...I love Reptile's silhouette in the cover image for this. Beautiful.
Second...this music is awesome and beautiful. I don't know much about synth, but I do enjoy good music and I really like this. It's got good rhythm and beat. Even better that it was made by one of my favorite online artists.
you're doing great work, Reptile! Thank you for sharing! I look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next. :)

Hello buddy, and thanks a lot for the long comment!
Yay, you noticed that I designed the title card/cover as well... cool!
And thanks for the compliment, that's highly appreciated.
Hmmm... don't make me blush! X3
But yeah, I'm really happy you liked it and thanksssssssssssss again for the kind words. :3

Finally we get access to some more 'Cynrik music! First let me say that I felt right at home listening to the retro vibes from this synthesizer action. It reminded me of a feeling, like the music could be from the soundtrack of a 1990's role playing game that JUST came out on the recently released playstation 1 at the time. You are crawling through the depths of a new dungeon, looking for monsters to kill for EXP and Gold, and your music piece here would be a great 'dark dungeon' type of theme.
The reason I say that is because I'm sensing some ominous, atmospheric dread and danger lurking in the drums and overall beat. Yeah, you are going on an adventure, but you might DIE in there, too!
There does seem to be some hopeful tinges to the sound, like maybe asking the player "But there could be TREASURE down that alley way!!" So it's not all doom and gloom, there is an element of subtle conviction and confidence in there, too.
If I had to place an actual, existing game this piece of music would fit well with, I would likely have to say one of the earlier King's Field games, perhaps.
Reppy, I noticed that you uploaded the mp3 as 128 kilobites per second constant bit rate. Speaking in terms of a balance of quality and storage space, you might want to consider using variable bit rate encoding, such that the average bit rate is around 220 kilobits per second. I've done exhaustive listening tests and this was the threshold where transparency was reached in my opinion, meaning the original uncompressed wav audio file sounded exactly the same as the output mp3 file. lamedropXPd is a good encoder, and the variable bit rate encoder setting of 1.20 is exactly what I use all the time, it yields a file that is roughly 220 kilobits per second on average, depending on the complexity of the file. That way, more complex parts of the audio get higher bitrates, and lower complexity parts of the song get less, so it's really the best way to encode audio.

It's always a huge joy to read what people imagine during listening. ^^
Thanks for the comment and the interesting thoughts.
Do create a few SYNTH music tracks has been on my list.
Also, thanks for the suggestions about the quality... I did try to chage the kbit/secs but the mp3 didn't sound much better. ^^"
But I will keep that in mind.

Yes it is possible it might sound the same depending on your speakers and sub-woofer, typically the higher bit-rates will preserve the 'oomph' you hear in the sub-woofer range better. I find that 320 constant kilobits per second, which is the highest possible for mp3, is overkill and not necessary, but the variable bit-rate technique I outlined earlier is the best solution since it gives the same perceived quality as 320 constant but at 28% lower file size.
