Abilities: Water Manipulation, Ice Manipulation, Storm Generation, Sub-Zero Rain, Cold Air Generation, Hydrokinetic Cloning, Life-Force Absorption and Health Drain.
Bio: Barbara the Hedgecat. J.C. the Hybrid's former mother. Not much is said about her past. She used to be a talented skier and a great bowler until she retired and eventually became a nurse, studying medicine to help mobians in need. Barbara took a part time job as a waitress to help make some money for medical school until she met John the Hedgebat. Eventually, they got married and had J.C., their son. Then, one day, she got a phone call from P.K. and Murray, saying that J.C. was in a coma due to saving kids from a burning building. She was heartbroken from this shocking news and promised to find a way to save her son. A week after the incident, Barbara left town, taking Sabrina with her. The last thing she left behind for John was her wedding ring and a note, saying that she’ll find a healer to do what science could not. She spent years traveling the world, looking for anything that can help, although her mental health was deteriorating despite Sabrina’s increasing concern. She found healers, places of power, relics, and uncovered many powerful artifacts in many ruins, but no one or nothing she found could help her awake J.C. from his long sleep until she eventually comes across an ancient text about a benevolent deity that healed all who came to its sacred spring. Eventually, Barbara found the sacred spring in the ruins of an ancient city. Unfortunately, the spring was in ruins and sacred waters ran dry. She was heartbroken and cried out to the deity, saying she’ll give or do anything to save her son’s life. The next thing she knew, she saw the deity, explaining its past to her. The deity explained that it was the city worshipped her for her healing powers as she saved the sick and dying, they gave her offerings and built monuments to her honor. But one day, the deity decided that material things no longer satiated it and that it needed something more. It began draining the lifeforce of every person it came into contact with. A small force attempted to stop it but all failed. However, amidst the battle, the sacred spring was destroyed. The springs waters are what gave life to the deity physical form and thus vanished when the water stopped flowing. The deity body was gone, but its consciousness remained in the water of the springs. That springs eventually dried up, being reduced to nothing but big puddle, to a small puddle, to just a handful of water. The deity as it was now on the brink of fading from existence completely, until Barbara had made contact with the remnants of the spring water. That single moment of contact was all the deity needed as it used its remaining power to force its consciousness into Barbara's body. The last thing Barbara remembered was the deity possessing her and Sabrina escaping. All she could do now was cry out J.C.’s name. To this day, she remains trapped, hoping her family will finally set her free.
