<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>In the latest manifestation of my penchants for drawing fanart of obscure video game characters and of turning cute animal heroes into dashing animal heroes, this is a makeover of the title character of Punky Skunk for the Sony PlayStation, which had the bad luck of having to switch platforms and start over despite almost being finished when the release of the PlayStation left the Super NES in the dust, and then the rotten luck of releasing in a market that saw 2D graphics as passé compared to polygonal 3D. I had the idea of drawing him posing like this with his pogo stick for a long while, but I didn't act on it until my friend Rachel encouraged me to pursue it during her stream. Then I had the idea of putting him in one of the places you can find the pogo stick for the first time in-game, and the result was so much cooler than if I'd just gone with an abstract background.
