Common Name: Lagoon Anaconda. (Descendant species of the Green Anaconda)
Size: Average length is 95 feet long, with reports of monster sized specimens being up to 140 feet long. But this species can reach titan sizes reaching 250 feet long, making these individuals temporary apexes. The weight of these animals can be between 40-60 tons, but with the titan sizes, the weight can go into the hundreds of tons. Females are generally larger than males, so only females can get to titan size.
Lifespan: 120-200 years.
Diet/Hunting: Strict carnivores, they take prey from small animals that it can swallow whole to massive prey animals it can drown with its coils. If hunting fish, they still constrict it, but begin pulling and slicing prey with its blade teeth.
Social/Parenting: Boitata of both genders are territorial, but females only engage in coiling wrestling, which aren't lethal, with the winner being the owner of the contested territory with the loser moving on. Males, with more to loose, are not so passive with their fights and many fights between males become lethal, where the victor will eat the dead loser. Because of this, male populations are lower than females by 2/3s, which results in males that survive and hold territory having access to multiple females who's territories cross with his whenever they come into season. Gestation after breeding takes around 6 months, but only 4-8 young come out that come out as big as 15 feet long. With this, the young are on their own, hiding in the mangroves and flooded rainforests to grow and hunt. Adults swim in both the mangrove and flooded rainforests, along with swimming in the sea grass fields and the coral reefs of their great water environment.
Distribution: These animals live in all waterways connected to the rivers and inland sea. It is restricted to water due to the heavy weight, with only young below 35 feet coming onto land and climbing trees. The kind of area this species in is the future take on Amazon becoming flooded due to the world having lost most of it's ice, especially in the Antarctica, resulting in the sea level rising and flooding the Amazon as a result. This has created a huge inland sea with a combination on sea grass, coral reefs in the central part of the sea, with mangroves and rainforests on the shoreline. These combination of habitats has lead to a huge diversity of life in the Amazon Sea. This species rarely swims into the open ocean since they still need to drink fresh water once a week.
Conflicts: While being a powerful predator, it has mosasaur and dinosaur predators it needs to worry about as an adult, with only titan class sized individuals having nothing to fear, while having more predators as young. Humanoids are on the menu for animals that are 30 feet and up in length, but attacks are rare due to prey preference, with the most number of attacks that occur a year is 20 attacks both non-lethal and lethal, with fishermen being the primary victims. Otherwise, titan Boitata are revered as guardians, keeping other aquatic predators away and being safe to be around since titan Boitata don't see humanoids as prey any longer due to them being too small to be worth hunting.
