Picture taken on March 26th, 2025 in a forest in southwestern Germany. A frog's weather day, rainy but warm.
Wood sorrel (Sauerklee in German) is a type of clover that grows in forests. The flowers are different from that of clover seen in fields and lawns and the leaves are lacking the white markings.
This plant is very tolerable to locations with little sunlight which makes it well suited for growing in shady forests.
