While the society of the forest folk is largely equal and egalitarian, they still have leadership figures during times of turmoil. Their status remains even during times of calm, but their role then is simply to be a spiritual leader, and alongside the clergy to guide the folk in prayer and tribute to the gods. Any inhabitant of the great tree settlements of the forest folk may ask the leader for help and guidance, and they will be willing to help to their best ability. During times of turmoil and war, the folk gather under the leadership of anointed forest kings and queens, and during those times, the folk never remain in the same location from day to day. The forest folk relentlessly pursue their enemies under their leadership, up until the problem has been dealt with, or they cannot fight anymore. Thankfully for them, it rarely if ever comes to that. The leader figures are chosen by the folk during times of peace, and anointed by clergy during times of war and turmoil.
