Doctor Hydrargyros the Aeon of Arcane

Background: Doctor Hydrargyros was the original and soul Aeon of Arcane in the Legion having spent a majority of his life learning to master an understanding of alchemy and magic through rigorous and often tedious study, hard work, and experiments. He started the the project of trying to artificially give Dragons multiple elemental powers by decoding the notes of an alchemist from over 1600 years earlier and improving on their process, but despite his subject being the first to survive his project was deemed a failure. The Legion then brought in a new member to be Hyrargyros's superior, Doctor Bhaal: A Hybrid and a foreigner not loyal to the Empire or the Legion who was given authority and the run of the place, and to Hydrargyros's perspective worked half as hard as him. Hydrargyos learned how to use magic through years of hard work and practice which requires resources and preparation, Bhaal could do it all on his own because of his bloodline.

In his life Doctor Hydrargyros has fathered a couple of children with a lesser noble dragoness of the royal court, but wants nothing to with his wife or his sons, and refuses to step foot in the capital city. He believes they are nothing but a waste of time and an annoying distraction from his work.

Personality: Doctor Hydrargyros is a flamboyantly pretentious, self centered asshole who calls all of his works "Miracles", but he puts the effort to afford to have an inflated ego. He is very dedicated to his studies and he takes a great amount of pride in his own hard work and intelligence, but those are about the only things he is dedicated to. Despite being focused on the legacy he will leave behind he does not see his sons as part of his legacy and believes they could never match up to his achievements. His only legacy will be all of his own accomplishments.
It was a gut punch to his unchecked ego when the Legion brought in his current partner, Doctor Bhaal and gave him a taste of his own "Miracle Medicine". Hydrargyros was dismissive of his contemporary scientists, believing that none of them had anything to offer him but being extra working claws, clearly below his level of genius and dedication, and then Doctor Bhaal was given his same position, can manipulate magic innately, and was given special authority in the Legion hierarchy, and as far as Hydrargyros could tell, he didn't need to work for any of it. What's worse is that Bhaal is completely dismissive of anything Hydrargyros has accomplished, like they are mere child's play to him, and what he would considered a great success, Bhaal convinced the Legion his surviving subject was a failure and should be studied as a cautionary example. Hydragryros was humiliated and swore he would have revenge against Bhaal by trying to ruin his greatest experiment!

He's not much of a fighter and tries not to engage directly in combat if he can help it but if he had no choice but to fight he would not be entirely useless.
