I like all gens. But of all the three, I feel that the 3rd gen is the most reliable. Corolla engine, with VVT-i and timing chain. Plus, snap oversteer is somehow fixed by making the wheelbase longer.
The first and second gen MR2s resembles the Ferrari, while the 3rd gen resembles and feels like a Porsche.

Oh yeah, I suppose you're right about that one, while the older 2 generations are maybe cooler and probably faster, given that the first gen has a supercharged version and second gen with an even faster turbocharged version, the third gen feels the most approachable on top of its best secure on its reliability as well, given that it's the newest too.
I honestly don't mind if it is the slowest out of the three, it's a bit like a mid-engined Miata, won't needing to worry about breaking laws while having fun, and having the wind blowing your hair about, it's great! Your take about the three generations' resemblance is also interesting too haha, but it somewhat makes sense for the 3rd generation since the first generation Porsche Boxster is also a roadster just like the third gen MR2, but if I'm not mistaken, both have their respective optional hardtops too!

Sigh...inflation in a nutshell... :') I suppose the best that any of us with similar motives can do for now is just save up as much as possible for the time being while scrolling through pages of the used car market, hoping to find one in good balance of condition and price.
Aside being poor, it's just hard to earn money, and having a lot of responsibilities given to me. So I can't focus on earning money for myself.
Apartment costs high, paying for my sister's driver's license, and I even pay my mother's land bills.
The first two are somehow the biggest for now.
