Without his high-tech gear from his home dimension, Anthony must rely on his own devices in a world where magic and curses are far more prevalent than science. To protect himself from monsters that defy scientific explanation, Anthony researched various tomes and artifacts using the devices he had with him before his dimensional jump. During this research, he encountered Kiyoshi, a fox who is Edward's friend and partner on a quest to return the Dragon Ruby to its rightful place. Finding no hostility between them, they collaborated on ways to empower Anthony using magic. Since Kiyoshi is still mastering stronger curses, ferocious creatures weren't an option (Edward's Lion transformation consumes too much energy).

After careful consideration, Anthony selected a kangaroo form that fell within Kiyoshi's capabilities without exhausting him. Combining Kiyoshi's spell with his bloodstream's nano computers, Anthony programmed them to optimize his transformation—creating a perfect fusion of magic and science. As a test, Anthony removed his nano computers' limiters, effectively overclocking his werekangaroo powers. While not comparable to his high-tech gear from home, the remarkable primal power it provides comes in as a close second.
