Christ Almighty...Murphy you asshole!!
Last night 
Brombear came up to have dinner with me, since he's down in Beloit for some job training a few days. Tuesdays are my only day off from work, so this worked well. After Brom dropped me off to head back, I kick on the 9PM local news and during the news "This just in, a City bus crashed into a Madison Restaurant" and they showed the restaurant...the Restaurant I WORK AT!!
I immediately hop in my car and head there, in my way in I get a call from
Neikrad "Hey, your restaurant got hit by a bus!!" Then my boss called saying the restaurant was hit by city bus. I get on scene and view the bus being pulled out from the building. I go and park nearby and head in, I don't see my boss. I go around front and look at the gaping hole in back. I get some photos (including the bottom one seen here). I see people gathered across the street, they are reporters. Then my boss calls again. This time the reporters overhear me talking to my boss, and ask numerous questions. Mainly was anybody inside at the time, how long I worked there, have you been inside to see the damage? I'm utterly stunned at the damage I am viewing and give the reporters the bosses private number since they want to interview them in the morning. I find out from the reporters that a woman who boarded the bus on the corner to the right of the restaurant, got upset she got on the wrong bus, and demanded the driver to take her to HER DESTINATION, regardless of his route he must keep, and attacked the driver. Furiously punching him about the face and neck and grabbed the steering wheel, causing the bus to turn into the building and crash. Then kicked open the doors and fled. The bus driver and another passenger were injured in the crash, and the passenger was taken to the hospital.
This morning, my phone explodes early with people across the country calling asking if I was hurt in the crash or inside. Even my sister in Tucson calls me asking WTF? I headed in around 10:45 to see my bosses and the damage inside. I see the city already put up plywood and chainlink to cover the massive hole. The Temp agency took the bigger, larger hole, the Restaurant suffered more expensive damage though.
ABC news was interviewing my boss inside, and the same reporter from last night greeted me when done with the interview. The woman who caused the accident is still on the loose. But the local radio was asking a very valid question, "Why hasn't the TV media shown an image of her, asking the public for info on who she is?" All buses have cameras inside, One immediately left of the driver looking towards the entry door, One facing forward outside looking front, one inside looking to the back, one inside facing the middle exit door, one in the very back looking forward. The bus company gave the footage to the police. BUT the local media hasn't shown the woman's photo. The reporter says "Because she's likely a minority and unknown for a prior criminal history, and doesn't want a wave of protests from that community of blaming somebody from it." (Yet this reporter herself is African American) She discusses with my boss the problems a very recently added bus stop by the building has had its share of bad elements, homeless, druggies pretty much trashing the stop, vandalizing the stop. (Where there was a guy openly waiting on the bus to arrive and openly masturbating a few months ago!! With others right there!! Hell, I got two female passengers away from the guy and took them to the restaurant til the bus arrived, then escort them back and the asshole was STILL openly jerking off!! I made sure the two got on and notified the driver to contact the dispatch to alert the cops, the driver says "Yet another day in paradise ain't it?")
The inside the restaurant has the stainless splash guard behind the burners buckled in, the overhead stainless venting system was completely knocked a full foot away from the wall, with roof and lighting damage. The gas lines and water lines damaged as well.
Thank God that nobody was inside the restaurant when this happened at 7:45PM.
But, my boss was fighting back tears, This is a serious financial hit on them for loss of business, they have insurance, but the loss of income is greater. She shows me an order they received that morning before they could close all incoming orders and shut down Grubhub, EatStreet and Door Dash. A massive order for Friday evening, 119 people for a Chinese wedding, an order worth over $1200!! (Not counting the sizable tip us drivers would have gotten) Now it must be cancelled . They placed a sign in the window, saying that due to the crash, the place must be closed for repairs. My bosses husband was upset "Why can't bus hit front? I could fix front easier and cheaper and still cook!!"
But, we're talking a MINIMUM of 4-6 Weeks, likely longer, they will be closed for repairs. I am in effect without a job in the time being, I seriously need to scare up another job quickly. Whats worse is that January/February are notoriously slow, and being a 10-99 (Self employed) I am unable to collect unemployment in the time being. Plus I have a incoming massive car insurance bill due April 18th. Not counting rent, utilities, car payment and cards. So I seriously need to move artwork and crank at commissions as well.

They FINALLY Arrested the bitch who caused all this. Only one local TV station is willing to post info on her, the others are spineless jerks!!

I'd rather move to Arizona again, no black ice, no polar sub zero vortexes, no mosquitos, no militant Packers assholes, no tornados.

Freaking Karens I tell ya. Got on the wrong bus? Nope, now its a taxi, take me where I want to go! Don't care about anyone else but themselves and god forbid you don't do what they say right away. Someone never got spanked as a kid. I have heard all sorts of crazy Karen stories, and videos of them acting bad on YT as well.
Had a local Mexican Restaurant (Family owned place too) Suffer a grease fire in the kitchen, scorched about 40% of the work area. They shut down for like a year and a half and completely renovated the ENTIRE inside....
And I just googled the incident NOBODY IS GIVEN ANY SORT OF PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WOMAN WHO CAUSED THE ACCIDENT!

Something similar happened to a very nice Indian restaurant in my home town in 2019 (wait for it). A grease fire wiped out a large chunk of the restaurant. They were in the process of doing a thorough renovation when 2020 Happened. Astonishingly, the owners kept at it, and eventually -- I think in 2023 -- the restaurant reopened, bucking the odds.
Rabbi, I feel ya man, I have a backup 'skill' that has served me well in times of need. I learnt..and it didnt take that long 'Equine sports massage' you can learn most of it online for free and once you get earning you can get certified fairly quickly (equissage.com) - a good equine masseur can make $100 an hour and you will quickly establish a clientele of horse owners that appreciate it. Once you are qualified and have the cert. you can get hired by big stables and believe me, that's where the money is.. its fairly physical and weather dependant but you can practice on local horses usually for free and once folks know you are available you'll start getting requests. Just a suggestion..
Having backup skills is critical anymore. I always tell my store employees. "Get a trade, then you can pay your way though collage if needed. of course the usual whine with cheese comes about. "Oh I want a 7 figure salary, with an office, in computers!"

Seriously though, there are a ton of horse and dog owners out there who will fork out serious dosh every month to keep their horses massaged, not to mention a masseur is cheaper than a vet and we pick up on injuries a lot faster, we never claim we can treat them though, but if we let them know they can at least decide whether to call in a vet.

PROTECT THE DRIVER/OPERATOR OF ANYTHING USED TO TRANSPORT 'The PUBLIC'!!!
Whether it's friggin' airplanes, trains OR buses, don't let the deranged/rabid/homicidal have easy access to the person operating the vehicle!
How much more is it going to take, and how many more lives is this going to cost?

The instant I saw that second plane slam into the other Tower, that was the thought that went through my mind (Followed of course by the avalanche of other thoughts/emotions about what this attack portended).
Humanity truly has a major gene fault when it comes to remembering painful lessons. The average years it takes to see it happen seems to be inside two decades. Three at the most.

i never liked the media so much only those whom are real serious and not create stuff , The media once blew up out of the water a business that was so hush up and not even me that i was involved could tell it to my wife. uship is a company spawned from Ritchie Bros equipment auctions, they expanded their reach (shipping wars) but they range from envelope couriers to 100+ ton equipment. A connection between customers and drivers or brokers drivers and customers. I did some heavier stuff but smaller local items were little fragile items, lamps. some small furniture bits, a couple dozen comic book sized boxes between towns for someone who didn't own a car. If I'm driving x country I'll look to see if there's anything there to pay for the trip.
Reading about the scum at the bus stop reminds me of the time I was part of a math conference at Moscone’s Center in 2014. OMG the Powell St. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station was discussing! A once beautiful station (once clean as hell too) was now an encampment for bumbs, drunks, hard drug users.. roaches, body waist…, I felt like I had to escape the city of San Francisco as fast as possible!
The problem that we have is that nobody is facing the consequences of their actions! THAT is the problem: we have people not willing to force consequences on others for their bad behavior, drug abuse, etc.
