Dakota is the one who makes these and she chose those specific characters cause they matched best.

Lorewise: Dakota made these to firmly state she's a part of the crew and she can be useful in her own ways.
Eventually I tell why she picked the characters she did. Oh and if your wondering how she manages to sew with claws like that I'll leave that as a story for another time.
