I drew this concept for what Kayla's primary sword (remember, she has six) might look like. This blade is used in a stance that translates as "long fang" and refers to the wide sweeping motions used to slash from a distance and control the space of melee combat. Like all fractal blades, the blade is only present when activated. The razor thin blades take on the color of the user's bioluminescence. This is Kayla's favorite sword to use by default. It's angled and balanced for only a true Master to make full use of. The edge of this ethereal sword is taped into increasingly narrower edges (hence the name fractal blade) until hitting a layer that's only molecules thin. It's capable of slicing through most conventional materials with terrifying ease. In addition to being a weapon, blades are highly symbolic and valued in auroran culture. All formal vows are taken with a blade in hand and carried with the individual. Even if an auroran chooses not to become a warrior of any sort, they will at least be proficient enough for rituals they start learning as children.
