It was a busy past few days for Beep.
Lance had pulled the blood feathers when they broke, and watched curiously as Beep burned them. The protective waxy casing was thicker than a feather would typically be at that size and didn't give easily, perhaps due to how strong the feather would have to be when fully grown? Regardless, they needed to be pulled to cut off the bleeding. That night, Beep had tried to pull the broken feathers, but the pain of pulling the burnt pinions was too fresh and he needed to ask Krobus for help pulling the rest of his flight feathers. It was upsetting having only his covert feathers left, but the abundant food in summertime would give Beep the energy he needed to replace them.
Yesterday, he fed the broken feathers to the brazier in his lair. More offerings to strengthen the spell's connection to his mates. He recalled memories of his previous moult. One of them had used their own oil gland to soften the protective sheath when they were starting to break apart, and rubbed it into the newly emerged feathers. The other had preened them into place, a comfort often repeated in soft moments between them. While the oil was most likely long since rubbed off, the emotional connection remained. The memories of gentle touches and aid during a vulnerable time soaked into the spell, dissolving into the iridescent liquid.
Today, Beep had gone to the Highlands to explore more, but the inability to fly if he needed to flee caused him to use a totem to warp to the beach back at Pelican Town. (Marlon had been watching Beep from the fortress and saw the peryton disappear, so he took the boat back.) Original plan aborted, Beep took Willy's boat to Ginger Island. He met Lance again, who wanted to see how much magical ability Beep had, since the antler glamours were unlike anything he had seen before. Using a magical artefact to teleport to the house-sized island just off the beach wasn't what Beep expected, but Lance must've gotten whatever answer he was looking for...?
When Beep returned to Pelican Town, he wandered around in the rain, picking up forage when he noticed something dark on the ground near the cliff. When he walked closer, he noticed how close to the cliff, and how person-shaped it was.
Harvey was woken up by some unnatural creature sounds outside of the clinic, and even more alarmed to see Beep carrying Shane passed out on his back. The man had to have his stomach pumped, and would need some serious mental health help, but he would survive. Beep gave the half-alert man a gentle boop on his hand, then left before Harvey could usher the deer out of the clinic. While Shane was going through a difficult time, there would still friends that were to help him get through it.
Quick edit to add writing this story bit made my stomach feel all twisty and bad, and I struggle with knowing how to be delicate about certain topics. Please talk to friends/family/professionals if you struggle with addiction and/or suicidal thoughts.
Things different from canon; (AU???)
Gramps never had an heir, or they never show/ed up.
Stardew Valley Expanded; new maps, new NPCs, new events, a LOT of new stuff.
The new “Farmer” is just a Weird Ass Deer. NPCs will respond/react accordingly.
This is my first time playing Stardew Valley Expanded. Please no spoilers if you play SVE.

Nothing special, just technican-engineering jokes that supersonic airplanes often have much smaller wings, as if they were gnawed off.
Northrop T-38 Talon for example (such dimensions allow to accelerate to enormous speeds without losing wings for a bunch of aerodynamic reasons).
