A dying forest, its' fauna and flora corrupted by a spreading blight, consuming all that was in its' way, overwhelming all with dark...
...yet there was still one spark of light in the dark.
That light was Ori, a small light spirit with the goal of both reuniting with their found family, and saving the forest from the decaying blight that so plagued it. The harsh environment wore down on their heart, yet they continued to explore and travel, hoping to find respite at the end.
...But they would find respite sooner rather than later.
Eventually, hunger would set in for the spirit, their mind aching with a primal need for something, anything to eat...yet they wanted to be safe, most things in the forest, to be blunt, were not very appetizing. Be it the corpses of the fallen or the dubiously edible fruit of the corrupted trees, Ori would rather not let themselves be felled by something as simple as a meal. Just when it felt like the hunger pangs would become too much to handle, they found something that might just be what they needed.
A healthy, living tree amongst the wastes, and bearing fruit no less from its' oddly soft, dense canopy. Each one covered in a thick layer of fuzz similar to a peach, albeit far fluffier. Ori couldn't help but notice something before he began to feast...a carving on the tree...
...it resembled a Spirit like him, but it looked different, with a strange shape at the end of its tail...oh well! Safety was safety, and food was food.
As they began to consume, the sweet taste was unlike anything they had ever tasted, it was truly otherworldly, like the taste of some far off heaven...a heaven that would soon begin to approach~ As Ori finished the first fruit, a secondary sensation began to take over their mind...a feeling, a desire, an addiction for, more...they wanted, no, NEEDED more!
As they began to eat more and more of the fuzzy fruits, Ori's shape began to grow, though not quite in the way one might expect, their outline grew fuzzier, becoming almost like that of a snowman, their head and body fur was growing at a rapid pace, puffing and thickening into an opaque, dense cloud of softness that threatened to consume their limbs, and indeed did! By the time they realized what was happening, the only part of themselves left exposed to the open air was their face, as they had been engulfed in an afro daruma twice their original size!!
Various feelings came to Ori, confusion, worry, but most strongly of all, comfort...a feeling amplified even more when they realized something, brushing against the corrupted thorns of a nearby tree, Ori felt...nothing. Their afro and daruma body were simply too dense and thick to be harmed or even cut by it! This wasn't just a ball of cozy hair, it was a shield of protection, something that would make the spirit's life so much safer! This was a gift just for them, and Ori just had to get the full extent of it~
Eating the remaining fruits from the tree, Ori felt the warmth extent to somewhere else on their body as their daruma grew taller and taller, as suddenly the lower half of their vision became engulfed in a new, unfamiliar shape, one that curled and bounced with their thoughts as though it were their arms...all the while what looked like their own light began to spread across the forest floor. their facial hair had grown in, and goodness was it wonderous~ It was not coarse, but oh so soft, like the densest pillows and blankets, Ori felt lost in all of it, like they could just sink away and become at total bliss...yet their focus remained sharp, yet not sharp enough to cut their new locks~
As Ori finished their meal, they were a titan, bigger than the tree they gorged from, bigger than the biggest fauna in the forest! A king and a jungle all in one, their confidence was far bigger than before, and with the safety of this new form, they could easily save what was dear to them, and perhaps more!
...Maybe they could even find another wonderous tree and grow big enough to make the whole FOREST safe in their wooly embrace~

Given how my own sona is based on Ori, I just HAD to give them the funky treatment!~
I hope you enjoy~
