The long, white shelf of Gallopston beach seemed to stretch endlessly off
to the left and right. Multi-colored ponies raced through the sun bleached
sand, laughing and smiling with others strolled hand in hand. The sky was
pale, lit with the early afternoon sun and a cool breeze blew up off of the
shimmering blue waves of the Gulf of Mexipone.
Coffee Bean was resting on his belly on a deep purple beach towel,
sunglasses perched on his muzzle. He smiled as the sun beat down on his
back as the breeze swept through his brunette mane, His tail twitched this
way and that above his cream colored swimming trunks. He was so
relaxed he felt like he might just melt through his towel and sink into the
sand. He watched all of the other happy ponies with a lazy smile as his
eyes slowly started to drift closed.
He took a few deep breaths of the salt-tinged air, about to drift off to sleep
when he heard something change. He heard the voices of ponies all
around murmuring curiously, talking hurriedly to one another, followed by
the sound of bubbling, splashing water from somewhere in the distance off
to his right.
Panicking ponies were rushing out of the water, splashing and screaming
as they practically trampled one another to race across the beach. The
water off shore was starting to bubble and roll, like it was coming up to a
boil. Strands of something bright blue with a hint of green, almost the color
of the seafoam walls in Coffee Bean’s shop back in Ponyville, were rising
through the bubbling water, floating to the surface. Sitting up, Coffee
pushed the sunglasses up above his eyes to get a better look at what was
happening out there.
Suddenly, something broke the surface. At first it seemed to be some kind
of huge dome, almost like a new small island rising up from the sea floor
until two huge equine ears sprung up through the roiling mass of what
looked like seaweed. A titanic head lifted up through the bubbling salt
water. Gigantic green, almost glowing eyes opened wide before narrowing
to angry slits, glaring towards the fleeing ponies.
Coffee Bean was stunned as he saw the giantess rising from the depths,
her slim muzzle, slender neck, shapely shoulders slowly lifting higher and
higher from the gulf, sending huge waves racing towards the beach. The
first ones broke upon the sand, scattering ponies, leaving them screaming
and spluttering as they scrambled through the wet sand that was clinging to
their fur.
His heart was pounding in his chest, but it didn’t feel like fear, not exactly.
Sweat trickled down the side of his face and he felt something stirring deep
within him. His mouth was suddenly dry as a bone. He licked his lips but
his tongue felt like a strip of dry leather in his muzzle. The barista stared in
awe as she continued towards the fleeing ponies. She planted one
massive foot on the beach, plowing up sand all around it as she threw back
her head and let out an unintelligible roar!
At least, Coffee’s ears heard a terrifying roar. Inside of his head he heard,
“Flee! Flee or perish beneath the soles of your master!”
The little barista started to stagger across the sand towards the towering
giantess, drawn towards her somehow. Fleeing ponies kept bumping into
him, looking at him like he had gone mad until he finally broke through the
living wall of equines. He stared up at her face, slowly walking towards her.
The giantess, now fully on the beach grinned malevolently as she saw the
last of the ponies clearing away from the sand. Her huge chest was
heaving as she tried to catch her breath, traveling so far beneath the waves
had been taxing. She was about to move on when she felt something
tugging at her mind, demanding her attention.
Turning her head and looking downwards, she saw one last pony on the
beach, but they weren’t fleeing for their lives. They were approaching the
giantess, almost seeming like they were in a trance. Blinking, she placed a
hand on her chest as she felt her heart racing. She moved closer to the
tiny stallion before lowering herself onto her knees and snatching him up
from the beach. She snarled at him, narrowing her eyes at him.
Coffee Bean just stared up at her, speechless for a moment before he
simply said, “You’re beautiful.”
The giantess’s ears just heard gibberish, but inside of her mind she
understood him perfectly. She had never experienced anything like this
before. She felt like she needed to protect this tiny creature, but she didn’t
know why. Some bond had formed between them that neither of them
could explain. The stallion stood on her open palm, holding into her thumb
for stability as he gazed up at her.
“Where did you come from? Why are you here?”
The giantess made a series of growls, snarls and roars, “From an island
with many others like me. There are too many of us for our land to sustain,
so I was sent here to clear the land, destroying everything in my path to
make way for my sisters.”
Coffee Bean knew he should be horrified by this, but in his mind all he
could think of was how much he wanted to help her achieve her goal. He
stretched out a hand, reaching up to lightly touch the side of her cheek.
Her fur was far softer than he expected and sent a shiver through him as
well as a jolt of energy.
“Take me with you, let me help you. I can direct you to the most important
places so you finish your task quickly.”
Her heart racing, the giantess nuzzled the tiny stallion. She sniffed his fur,
picking up the wonderful scent of roasted coffee before snuggling him to
her chest. She grinned, striding towards the city of Gallopston to begin her
conquest
