Inspired by a particularly rude and uncalled for comment on a petition I shared on Bluesky a few weeks ago 😕Have been feeling really down again recently, so finished it now - didn't put on any background for it to not distract from the message here or my sentiment here :/

Affective empathy, based on strong instincts and involuntary responses to emotions of others, manifests very strongly in me as one of my autism symptoms, and when I see a lot of updates about charity drives or social causes, its extremely overwhelming taking all the emotions in 😟

This was the first time I've had someone calling me a SLACKER just for trying to help or bring attention to something though 😟 And yes, I blocked the person in question who left that comment 😐As someone who worries he's not doing enough as it is, getting the impression some people want others to jump through hoops and work miracles or else they're simply not good enough is not a sentiment I appreciate receiving ☹️

And I like to think that caring and at least trying to make an earnest effort is a lot more altruistic than how little thought SOME people put into caring😒Moral of the story - don't be a dick to little people who are only trying to help or show support - it only makes things worse 🫥
