Joey must've been angry about something. Could be rival werewolves trespassing? Or probably salty at losing a couple of games with Eduardo. Whatever it is Jo's not happy about it. So much so that his spiritual pressure was building up to the point that Ed could see it. It freaked Ed out enough to cause him to backdash rapidly. I'm pretty sure Joey didn't mean it, he was zoning out about something that irked him.
