Avery is part of a series of characters I'm designing for a sports webcomic about wheelchair basketball!
I used to play, something like 10 years ago now, and during the last paralympics I was seeing a lot of misinformation about how the sports actually. I designed Avery and another character just as something to have in the background of a video. It was meant to be a bit of a joke about the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams having a bit of a thing for furries in their mascots (Tokyo had the most obvious example, but the Sydney 2000's Olympics/Paralympics used them too) but I ended up getting really attached to them haha, hence the Webcomic idea.
Avery is a Red Bellied Black Snake, a species of venomous Australian Snake.
