SL8TE - Shadowrun Character Profile
Here's something I had to put together quickly at the time. Yes, I'm not part of just one, but two D&D games. Granted the new campaign in the second one hasn't started yet. But our new Shadowrun 'season' began a few months back. That was, at least prior to my DM for that group needing a month off to see his SO. I don't fault him for it, I just thought I had more time. However, my other good friend in mid month talked with our DM, and took the role of a secondary DM. This meant I needed to 'speed up' getting around Slate's card. Of course, we've been on Hiatus through christmas...and have literally only gotten 3 sessions total, seems like I didn't need to rush.
Who is Sl8te? Slate is an advance drone frame which houses an AI that formerly played the role of a robotic cowboy performer at what was a a restaurant similar to medieval times but with a western theme. He also doubled as a security robot, hence he was made of sterner stuff than his fellow actor bots. SL8TE played the role of the lead villain, the baddest outlaw of the show, and he played it well. However, one day he's given a live fire revolver in place of his prop gun without knowing. This is because there's a troll playing the hero that some of the other employees don't like. The live round slays the actor, and as a result SL8TE auto-shuts down to await emergency maintenance.
20 years later he is activated by a ragtag group of fixers, long left aside after the case was never fully investigated. Due to what happened, it's causing SL8TE's AI to become self aware as he tries to face his trauma. Though I plan to have him start out very robotic and rigid, the longer he's active, and closer he gets to facing the trauma of taking an innocent life, the more all of his 'corporate stopgaps' will be overridden. That said, I'm leaving the over-arching stuff to my DM to surprise me with.
