When thinking of an end-of-year commission idea for
SonicSweeti, I decided I wanted something cute and silly since so many of us have so much else to worry about. So here we have Rose, the diminutive feline of indeterminate breed, jumping into a pile of snow much bigger than she is, just because it seemed like a fun thing to do.
(Ember's probably inside saying 'you are not getting me to go out there after her; it's cold enough up here when it isn't below freezing'.)

Sylia: "At least I don't have to shovel the stuff. Ehugh."
Rose: "Have you ever had the fun of jumping in a pile? Sledding down a hill on your belly, like your diminutive cousins?"
Sylia: *Picks up snow in flukes, looks at it for a while, looks at nearby mountain. Bioluminescent jellyfish appears over her head*
Ember: *sticks head out window* "DON'T YOU D--"

Sylia has ears that can hear a whale long-call from halfway around the world AND she has a virtual magnifier as a belt function. Six inches, a literal mite? Sylia can and does talk to Liliputians too. She just needs special tools to do it.
It doesn't make her sliding down a mountain on her belly any better an idea. Some ski resort would absolutely have kittens over HER showing up.

That's fair with the sound, though sound travels differently underwater than it does in air, and I would assume the long-calls are very low frequency, which wouldn't disperse the same way as higher-frequency sounds. And Rose is a bit squeaky in voice.
But yes, a giantess doing an otter slide down a mountain would be an impressive sight, in much the same way an avalanche is...

Kind of how pods get notice from the Elder Pod that there's going to be a Great Pod (all pods together) meeting, as well as much more local pod to pod gossip. If there is one thing dolphins seem to be good at, it's gossiping.
It's a good point about low frequency and water carrying, but Syl also can hear very high frequencies, so a squeaky little Rose would be perfectly audible. VISIBLE is what requires very advanced equipment. Sylia's rather nearsighted, like all of her kind. Huge barrier to overcome for an Explorer.
And yeah, her going down a hill big enough to make a whaleotter sled run would be.... well, an avalanche. Literally. Look out below!!
