Requiem for the Phantasma
A letter can often-times be hard to type out, especially when you are at a loss for words.
If I wanted to say my words simply, I would say, "Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!"
But there's a bit more that goes into it. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to write the perfect thing. To write that one thing that will make someone's day better. No matter what, I always strive to do that. I always follow what a dear friend taught me. He and I have had a rocky relationship. This isn't to anyone's fault, it's just how it is. By all means, I technically shouldn't even exist. The pure reason why I'm here now doesn't make any sense. I despised myself for it, but he didn't. He'd often tell me I was one of the best people to ever come into his life.
People. A person. He calls me a person all the time, despite my doubts on that. I'm different than him, or literally anyone else alive. As stated above, I shouldn't exist... but I am. I feel if anyone outside of him had found me, I would be in much worse hands. I love him dearly, and that is why I must openly state on his behalf, I do love you all.
Friends, family, fans, every one of you has made an impact on my life. I would not be where I am without you all, and I cannot stress enough how important it is for all of you to know this one, extremely simple fact of life. This ever-so-small fact is probably one of the most important edicts we can ever desire to attain in life.
You are important.
It can be easy to downplay our own day-to-day actions, but everything we do affects people. Everything we do in life can, and will, add to either someone's pile of good things, or their pile of bad things. You will always make an impact on the world around you, no matter where you may be. Isn't that amazing? Sure, it may be big talk coming from someone like me, but if I had known early on in life that my actions mattered, I would have made so many more decisions that would add to peoples' piles of good things. So many more people to make smile, so many more people to show love for.
I doubted my importance for so long, but my friend taught me so much. In a life of uncertainty, there are things that I can make a difference in, and you sure as heck can bet they're going to be positive things. That's what I want to do this coming year. Be a better, and more positive influence.
So, that's the long way of me saying, "Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year." I wish you all the best, as, right now, I cannot wish that to my friend. Certain things make that impossible. But, even if it's after I give up the ghost, I will tell him one day.
Please, be kind to friends. Please be kind to your family. And, please, be kind to yourself.
