Last week was finals for the Fall 2024 semester. I usually walk around the classroom; it used to be for catching people cheating, but that doesn't happen so much anymore unless people can find a way to involve their phones. Now, it's to see how people are doing...do they want scratch paper? A big eraser? Replacement lead for a mechanical pencil? Questions?

I do sometimes answer questions during exams. Someone asked about the integral pictured in the comic. I gave this class (Differential Equations) a table of integrals to help them with tougher ones, but the one this student was asking about wasn't really tough.

In fact, he should have been able to do it with a very basic technique...
