'No matter what happens in life, you can only do your best'
I've been thinking about a lot over the past 2 1/2 years. July 2022 was when I started to realise that I was experiencing depression following the heatwave we had in the UK, and since then, I have been proud of the progress I've made with my social life and my new experiences I've had in new experiences and my art, but I have noticed that nearly every week I have a day or two where I have extreme downward slips of my mood. I think that was the time in my life I started paying more attention to things in the world and trying my hardest to help in my own way (charity donations, showing support to friends and keeping an eye on important matters), but I would be lying if I said I can certainly see downsides to that in my everyday life since then. :(
I am seeing a therapist and she has helped me a lot, along with support from my friends and family, but if you were to compare me on bad days compared to good days, and ESPECIALLY to who I was before 2022, I feel like a completely different person.
With this month in particular having a lot of ups and downs, I got inspired to draw this, with Scrabber looking out of the window despondently unsure of what will happen to him or the rest of the world in the future. I do often give this advice to my own friends, but sometimes I need reminding of it myself - I'm not sure what the future will hold, but you can only try your hardest and do your best with what you have. ❤️
