I am imagining someone reading this and thinking "wouldn't this be better if you could hardly fucking tell what was happening", a summary that I will type is that an aureiyx lost their fur and went into a subspring cave in an attempt to avoid freezing to death and then got flayed alive and assimilated by the rampant unfinished Auxiliary, the "barrier" between them and "the world out there" disappearing both physically (flaying) and mentally (it is not a barrier but a bridge)
