Story of Sol | Day 52 - November 25th 2740
TRANSCRIPT
Started training my group of bandits today. None of them happy to be taking instruction from anyone, yet alone a newcomer like me. One veteran bandit observing had pulled me aside early on. He told me that people like them only listen to 3 things. Credits, fear, or strength. If I were to get these folks in line, I'll need to harness at least one.
I chose strength, and started taking a more hands-on approach. I knew I'd have to get physical, but get selective so I don't injure myself too much. I am still recovering from my stab wound, after all.
First up was the lady who had been mocking me. Called her out to a fist fight and wiped the floor with her. She hit hard, but I could tell immediately she was a brawler and only knew how to fight other brawlers, not someone more technical. Tried providing commentary on her form and flaws during the fight. Didn't rough her up too badly, didn't want her to be stuck in the infirmary.
The other two bandits I fought weren't much different, some were harder than others, but after the 3rd bandit fell, the remaining group became reluctant. I used this moment to reiterate the critiques during the fights. Having seen it in action they became far more receptive to it. The bandit veteran gave me a nod of approval.
That about sums up my first day on the job.
