This is a commish by
xxxchaotickitty of one of my newer characters, Elise, whose nursery is literally an entire firehouse. :P
Elise is an orphaned puppy, losing her family in a fire including her father who's a firefighter (sadly just as he was trying to rescue her). Before that fire though, her father was proud to bring his pup to the firehouse and let the other firefighters play with her and help take care of her so she got to know most of the others he worked for. After they found she lost just about everything, they couldn't let her go to a foster home but didn't quite know where she should live. That is until the nephew of the fire chief, a black Labrador who adored her volunteered to take her in. This choice was natural - Elise felt close to "Cinder" (as he was affectionately called by everyone) since he was pretty much the only one who wasn't afraid of changing her and happily taught her many of the things a pup would learn in preschool. There was another reason though he felt close now - he lost his father in a fire as well, trying to save another family - so he understood how fragile she was. However, "Cinder" came up with another idea - he still wanted to be her father but he felt that since she was born to a firefigther's family, the whole firehouse should be her family. After everything was taken care of, "Cinder" made her nursery in the firehouse...of course, why would a roughly 4-year old pup still need a nursery? It was one of the other "scars" Elise bears from the tragic fire - she was trying to use a potty when the fire started and was trapped in the bathroom. Since then she just couldn't try potty training - it was too painful for her. "Cinder" doesn't mind though because she loves him treating her like a small puppy with just a small bit of sass. One upside though to living with "Cinder" in the firehouse is that she has many daddies (and a few mommies, too) as well as "Chief" (the fire chief, who's like a grandpa to her) to watch after her and play with her. Might be a bit of a problem when she grows up though...but for now she has many caretakers who just adore her, and that's something she enjoys.
A big thanks for a cute piccy.
