Artison took some time crawling over to his prosthetic, but Mira had gotten up by the time Artison had re-attached his leg. She helped him to his feet, holding onto whatever amount of relief was still there.
"I'm sorry I did not use my hysteria." Mira said, "It was so sudden, I did not know what to do."
"Tiz fine," Artison said, "Truth be told. I didn't know what would happen either. I was trying to deceive the bull from what I was planning. And afterward, wow, You have quite a kick."
Mira was taken aback but blushed at the compliment. She looked over to Loretta and the smile faded. Artison looked too, and had a similar reaction.
Loretta walked over to them, practically stomping as she held her shoulder, "What were you both thinking? Why would you ever come down here again?" It was clear she wasn't talking to Loretta at all, this was all directed at her brother.
Artison's ears lowered looking at her, "I was asked to." He said, timidly. "Mira asked to see where we used to live. I can't just refuse the request of a woman-"
"And you didn't tell me about this?" Loretta shouted, "You and I both know tiz dangerous down here; even if you live down here tiz not safe!"
"We weren't supposed to be down here long," Artison said, "But tiz worse down here than I thought-"
"Exactly, so we leave," Loretta said, and turned to Mira, "We're not going to see that orphanage again. Is that clear?"
"The orphanage has burned down!" Artison exclaimed, and Loretta froze up, almost similar to how Artison first did, "Father McKennley died and the orphanage burned during a robbery..."
This got no response from Loretta aside from looking rather faded.
"...Can you truly turn back on all this? So much is wrong, so much has gotten worse since we have fled from here..." Artison said, "...Would you let this all happen?"
Loretta was still a while, then her ears lifted, "Mira, Open a portal, back to home."
Artison's mouth was agape at his sister, "What?"
"We're leaving," Loretta said, "Make the way home, Mira."
"Loretta, Why-"
"You lost your leg years ago, Artison!" Loretta barked back at Artison, "You lost it to people like this because I took my eyes off you!" She grabbed onto Artison's shoulders, "If the orphanage is gone too, then you're all I have left! I can't lose any more of you!" Tears started to form in her eyes as they looked at one another. Loretta's legs got shaky and her hands weighed more on his shoulders.
Mira watched the two of them, but then ran hysteria between her arms and fingers, making the movements with her arms to open a portal. All three of them walked from the streets down under and onto the balcony of their penthouse just as the sun was setting. Not another word was spoken that day, all the way till they went to sleep, there was this chilling and heavy silence between all of them.
