One of the best and worst times in my animation career - put in charge of developing my favorite comic book of the time for an animated series ...i was working for my fave studio (was friends with the owners) and we were partnered with a larger studio ... that some questionable book-keeping in their live action division and the Gov shut the whole business down for an audit. There were some months where we thought the audit might conclude and we could back to work on the project - but it was over a year and eventually the project got cancelled. Bye-bye to what could have been one of the best series ever.

The Royal City Of Shmoo, you say?
A former employer made some questionable investments -- on horse races. He would frequently gamble the payroll away; it was prudent to cash our checks ASAP. Since we were U.S. Government contractors, whenever he left his house, he would be followed by two U.S. Marshals who would physically intercede if he stopped at a betting parlor. He was arrested several times, not a good thing for someone running a security agency. He died of a heart attack a few years after I left.
