Mango was not one to meet the cities. they were often violent and distasteful towards him. Though he still had a sale to make, and he could live off that until the next time he needed to enter the city. While walking for the exit, however, he spotted something he hasn't seen in down below before. it was a store with actual lights on it. He walked closer and looked through the window, inside looked so clean, it was otherworldly compared to the rest of Down Below.
Entering in, the place looked like it was some kind of archive, maybe a store for books. But even then, it sure wasn't acting like one that night. Everyone was in costumes and playing games and eating food. He wasn't the only one to enter this place, it seemed others were walking in as well, and there a few more coming through the door Mango used to walk inside.
He smiled, it was so pleasant and a bit whimsical too. He wasn't ready to re-enter the city he knew, so he stayed in the store and did as others did. People got food and drink from the tables, and so did he. People danced or played games, Mango played along.
After a time came again, he decided to get another drink, and walked back for the table, he had the punch before, and drank water plenty of times. Then he saw these cans that were nicely stacked. Mango looked them over, and they all had strange names to them. The fox shrugged as he held on with half the label missing "-cream ina'ca-" If it was creamy, it couldn't be too bad. Mango pulled on the tab and opened the can, and out burst a loud and ghastly scream that shook the poor fox to his bones. After it past, Mango looked around. Nothing was wrong. That scream was certainly a scary surprise, he looked and saw his hair and tail were still spiky like from old cartoons. He tried brushing it down, but it spring back up, as if it were stuck in that startled and scared state.
"Got one of those hair cans?" A large woman came over. She towered over Mango, but she looked to be real friendly... whatever she was, "Don't worry about the style. It may be stuck like that, but it wears off by morning."
"Wears off?" Mango looked to her, and looked to the other cans. "These are here to intentionally do that?"
"Oh indeed, just a silly jest, as your world would put it." The woman chuckled, "I'd never do something harmful to my guests. Just have fun while the night is young, It's not like this is something to happen a lot." And then she walked off.
Mango watched her leave, still not sure what she was, then he looked back to the empty can he just opened, It was a little silly. he found himself chuckling over and continued to play around at the party until he felt ready to go home.
