Four can be seen as unlucky, but here on the fourth night of Taut-tober, this little reptilian alien is anything but unlucky~
===================================================
The Tulip Snakes are a fascinating and rather benign form of fauna from the stars, typically found on dense forested planets, they're one of the least threatening things you can find on alien worlds. Compared to the vicious Eyeless Dog, the insatiably curious Forest Giant, or the incredibly territorial Baboon Hawk, the only threat Tulip Snakes may pose is trying to lift you up. But that's not their fault! They simply want to impress would-be mates with their ability to lift large objects...but whilst for some, they are satisfied with simply large rocks or decently sized creatures, others have grander ideas...~
...as such, when an enormous, alien object far bigger than anything they'd ever previously seen landed on their forested home, one Tulip Snake got a little overzealous and clung to the top of this metal contraption...yet it wouldn't budge. All day and night they tried valiantly! But to no avail, this Tulip Snake was very determined, and kept trying to lift it!
...and it worked! At least, that's what they thought.
Of course, in reality, the object, which was a ship sent to gather scrap, was lifting up on its own! Whether because its' crew safely returned or because its' autopilot was making it return to orbit wasn't relevant. To the little reptile atop it, they felt like they were the strongest being ever! Though...as they ascended higher and higher into the atmosphere, something began to feel off. The rapidly lowering air pressure had quite unusual effects on their body...~
As though it were a balloon, they began to expand rapidly all over! From their torso to their limbs, to even their tail and facial features, NOTHING was spared a decompressing swelling, as they grew and grew...until finally, they had reached an equilibrium with the vacuum of space...a now gigantic lizard blimp, still clinging to the ship they were now far bigger than!~ All four of their eyes creaked and wobbled as they struggled to make sense of their situation...not understanding where they were or how they had grown so much...the only feeling they COULD understand was how wonderful it felt~ From their perspective, they had just ascended to a higher state of being after performing an amazing feat!~
...On one hand, they wanted to return home, to see just how many mates they could accrue with this newfound size...
but on the other?~
...
They might want to lay back and decompress some more, who knows! They might be able to lift that big shiny light in the sky soon enough!~
