the giant is the Inspector/Examiner, God of Disaster. His job is bring the judgement to world, then reset it.

the girl is the last human from the world been reset, but unbelievable, the Inspector saved the girl when she was a baby. and the girl also address Inspector as "Father". so, her job is the Messenger of Disaster.
