The last of my homebrew maps (so far).

The early Dwarves settled in Warmpool due to it's rich ore and gemstone deposits and ample water supply.
Many inhabitants have never set foot above ground, as they are located in the Frozen Waste, a harsh and inhospitable environment. As such, they greatly value outside news that travellers bring, even if it tends to be out of date by the time it reaches them, and even though many Dwarves spend their entire lives underground, there never seems to be a short supply of adveturous souls leaving Warmpool with the travelling caravans in order to see the world.

Being deep underground within the Frozen Waste leaves Warmpool quite isolated from the rest of society. This also means it is one of the most secure cities thanks to a mix of being hard to reach and the weariness of strangers they have developed over time.
The people of Warmpool are known as some of the finest smiths, builders and potters and their wares are often highly sought after outside of Warmpool. They also supply high quality materials to the outside world via the travelling merchants that manage to make the trip to their city.
