One more to go after this one!
Originally founded by an Orc clan made up of several refugees from nomadic war tribes in the area, Valasia was intended as a new start - free from the conflicts waged in honor of the god of war and the ego of war chiefs and leaders wanting to prove themselves in battle. Due to a period of conflict between the resident Orcs and the Elves of the High Court in Avarus that has since ceased, this city has a high population of Orcs, Elves and their hybrid offspring - Elc.
Family is very important within the local culture and people usually stay in touch even if their work takes them far away from their home, and due to the high birthrates common in Orcs, families in Valasia tend to be large, so it is not uncommon for people to have a relative who specialises in whatever you're inquiring about.
Built up around Caelen's Academy, a large and impressive institution of learning, keeping the original intentions for this place in their hearts at all times, this city has become widely known for their research and advancements in the fields of magics, science and technology. Outside of the divine city of Prasca, Valasia has been known as one of the most sophisticated cultures because of this. People from far and wide come here to study practical forms of magic or access the vast collections of research and knowledge housed in the Archives.
To the northwest are The Spires, twisted mountains rich in magically infused crystals that sparked the fast advancements in the mix of magic and technology Valasia is known for.
Less well known things of importance in Valasia are the impressive public Bathhouse that is accessible to all, the Cats Lake that provides a large portion of the food needed to feed the city and the Barrens which were once a forest that was completely cleared during the bulk growth of the city and now houses a relative of the Efellen family that was involved with the conflict in Valasia's past.
