I wanted to do more landscapes and decided to give Ulyana and Sasa a home and wanted to draw them a city to live in. I aimed to practice several things with this drawing, mostly drawing mountains, clouds and water. Originally I just wanted to draw the mountains and the lake but decided to include Ulyana, the city and the clouds as well. I have been consuming a lot of Bob Ross videos and have tried to apply his tips to the work.
I've also written a bit of lore about the city:
The city of Nagoretsk rests upon the bed of lake Cyniaksk across the vast mountain range of Divinar. The mountains are named after the wild kobold tribesmen that used to inhabit the area several hundred years ago. The city is shy of 20,000 inhabitants and serves as a local trading hub and home for the titanium miners working around the mountain's edge. Connected by both rail and a small spaceport allows the city to move both ore and people across the rest of the sector. The climate is mostly dry in the summers but cold in the winters. Ulyana enjoys taking walks around the city's outer edge.
I'll probably draw a complete map of the city somtime in the future too.
