Or the mass was used to make something else, accessory to the transformation. Perhaps it is a deformed human sans brain and with a big yinglet-sized hole in the torso, intended by Zhat Zhing's designers to be the means of reversing the transformation. Place transformed yinglet in hole to reform original human.
Damn, got my question answered the very next page! And they dispatched 2 officers to do the job.
After reading the last page, I wondered if Ran was dismayed that Kass lacked his own passion for science and knowledge, or if he genuinely feels sorry for how much Kass Kass hates the body he's trapped in. I'd like it to be the latter, but knowing Ran...

I think what I like best about this particular part of your wonderful story is that everybody involved has the good sense not to poke "it" with a stick. I mean, standard horror movie meme. House that screams and the wall in the basement oozes blood and eyeballs? Let's wait until the night of the Blood Moon and have the whole sorority come over for a pajama party! Big laffs! At least nobody here is dumber than a gray brick. That's refreshing.
Hi OOPsoids! I'm here to remind you yet again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
It closed out last month at about 1150 votes and 59th place. It's currently at 863 votes and 54th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

My best guess is that the excess material that melted through the floor reformed into something solid. Not the most specific or ground-breaking of theories, but I have to go off is that it glows, is "anomolous," and will upset Kass if he knew. Question is, does the substance transform all organic matter? Because I'm imaging earhtworms and other grub turning into microscopic yinglets letting out tiny high-pitch screams.
Whatever the case, Ivenmoth has hopefully handled the anomaly appropiately. In fact, they should have a whole division working to secure, contain, and protect similar oddities, each with a designated number, a brief scientific description about it, and specific instructions on how to properly restrain it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you would call such a place.
