Stillborn series meaning this is the only issue? I guess the world wasn't ready for funny animal soldiers...at least not with blood and gore.

Correct, the only issue. I wonder if this was meant to compete with Furrlough, which at one time was much more military-centric.

I see Mark Bodé had a story in this issue. Any idea who did the back cover? They were obviously a fan of Mark's father's work.

Information is pretty scant -- I don't see anything on line. When I get my copy, I might have an answer.

Oh, I have a copy. I picked it up at a flea market several years ago. It's in sorry shape and the bottom of the back cover is damaged. It does have part of the sig that looks like VON something (not Vaughn Bodē). The little critters seem to be turtles and not lizards.

Maybe  rabbi-tom remembers some of the details.

More or less Mirage's precursor to a little known property of Mirage Studios called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". The Triceratons predated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the 'tons even featured in the original TMNT comic. Their story in the original TMNT comic would be more or less adapted into 2k3's Triceraton arc, yet despite 2k3's horrible quippiness that'd make Joss Whedon look like Cormac McCarthy by comparison, the Triceraton arc in 2k3 actually resolves pretty cleanly in the 3rd season.

I'm a massive Triceraton fan and wished they got their own spinoff story but their vintage look in Grunts, their look in the original TMNT comic, and their 2k3 appearances are GOATed. Their IDW run designs look great, too.

This looks awesome.
Guessing physical copies are as rare as hen's teeth.
Should try and find a digital copy, at the very least.
