Throughout the original run of SPCM, one of the recurring themes was Captain Darkblade's unending pursuit of Jaws MacTaggart. He was forever trying to get his hands on her, in the hopes of treating her to a bit of action, but he never quite managed it. I would assume the same is true within the canon of the SPCM comics, even though Darkblade hasn't appeared there as of yet.
Here we see Darkblade on the bridge of his own pirate cruiser, the Bloody Cutlass , going over his latest plan with Veronika Spektor, one of his semi-regular accomplices. His plan, such that it is, involves Veronika somehow capturing a member of the Stellar Typhoon's crew, bringing them back to the Cutlass, and holding them for ransom until such times as Jaws gives herself up. I don't see how this scheme could possibly backfire spectacularly.
Presumably Darkblade has already had some action with Veronika, considering that's his jacket she's got tied round her waist.
