Oh, I don't mind the abstract background at all, thank you for doing the effort!! Especially incorporating it in a way that shows his love of water, that makes it even better.
He looks good in your style, and I really like that you were able to capture his personality; I felt like his ref made him look like he was only arrogant, but he's quite the happy and flirty guy on a regular basis XD
I'm really glad that you got his little white highlight in his hair as well; I was worried it wouldn't stand out enough and be forgotten, but ahhhh, you saw it yaaaay ;u;
