Character Inspiration Meme: Flare
Suddenly I wanted to make a meme like it's 2013 again :D I used to love filling these things a lot back in the day xD
Flare's project will be turning 12 years somewhere in the middle of this September, as well as the main character herself, so she seems to be a perfect fit uwu
The characters presented are:
- Blue from "U.S. Acres" comics (there aren't that many strips with her participation, saaadly, but she's still so sweet and clever, I simply adored this thing back in the day, so she was easily the first source of inspiration)
- Lola Bunny from "Looney Tunes" (I took the DC comics version on purpose, because her looks and personality in different animated media are some uncertain mess; although the closest animated version might be Lola from "Space Jam: A New Legacy"... buuut since that movie didn't exist back then, it would be more honest to keep the comic one here)
- Meg from "Hercules" (Flare has a somewhat similar personality, especially the manner of speaking)
- Lisa Simpson from "The Simpsons" (she was a lot like this character at a certain stage of childhood)
- Mrs. Brisby from "The Secret of NIMH" (this character was more inspiring from a design point of view, although the moment of overcoming fears for the sake of something greater was a thing, too)
- Louis from "Beastars" (the only new inspirational character here, since all the others were from 2012-2013, and this one joined only somewhere in 2023, gosh; actually Flare had some similar traits to Louis before "Beastars" even existed, but I've been a huge fan of this thing lately, so it helped me to perfect those specific traits)
Meanwhile, I still have those annoying blackouts which don't really help with my creative processes. But when I caught the wave for my Epsilonian project in July, I haven't abandoned it since and continued to think about everything related to it. I wrote down many notes lately, some of which can be used for descriptions in future art, and I still continue to write them. I also re-watched the "Duck Dodgers" series during August to refresh my memory about the canonical events, which helped me to spend blackouts with some fun. Hopefully I'll be able to start making more substantial art related to it that tells full stories somewhere this year. Haven't been more ready for this specific project for literally over 10 years - if only I had more time, stable electricity and didn't have to worry about the constant need to earn money... Adult life is so joyful x'D
P.S. I'll probably make more versions of this meme for other characters in the future.
