This was a style experiment. A lot of times I feel my line art comes across as rather flat and the piece only comes together after shading. So, I took a far more messy scratchy approach to see if I could give it some more depth with just the lines before I moved onto shading. While the piece isn't perfect as it was more of an experiment, I'm quite pleased with the results.
