"Admittedly, I kinda find it a little strange to write a log about an actual person, let alone one of my daughters, but... I suppose, here it goes. Avisa is the Overlord of the Ocean, or at the very least a tiny portion of it. The Ocean of Materia is grand, vast, and it goes all the way down to the Underworld, and it's almost seemingly endless and it's filled with demons and imps. Although that's not to say her title is not earned of course. Several hundred years ago when she became an adult, she descended upon the Realm of Materia to do battle with the Stars. Frequently disrupting their supply lines, building a massive empire beneath the waves as she got to watch kingdoms rise and fall. Even rivaling with the False Star known as "Triton", but she would not be the one to slay him.
Despite battling with him for over a hundred years the glory would go to another god during the War Against the Stars. She was fighting in this crusade against them before many others even got involved with it, and she was one of the biggest combat suppliers to the Warrior of the Pillars. She has many different offspring, a couple husbands I cannot remember, and many different Impish Knights at her disposal. She was a threat on land and in the sea as her destructive water magic and size was nothing to scoff at. She did at least slay a few of the Stars and helped with the construction of Bayshore. Nowadays she still has an iron fist over much of the ocean that many vassals of the pillars part the waves in.
However, it would seem my son Icarus and her are always bitter rivals. Both of them wish to be completely dominant over some trade routes or maybe it's about land disputes. Icarus wants a factory in a location, and Avisa wants to till the land for a grand statue of her and her achievements. There's no real winning with either of them as they'll endlessly get into fights, even over small things. I really wish they didn't brawl so much, they very much care for one another, but regardless... It... Uh... You understand, yes? I just want them to get along already and not have to clean up an entire city that got destroyed and evacuated in the aftermath of who can have the last drink in the fridge. They're both adults, they seriously need to act like it..." ~Thomza Materia
You know, it's kind of wild to me. Avisa has been around for a MASSIVELY long time, and yet, she has no real lore pages dedicated to her. So, I actually wanted to change that. I suppose the reason is that I always had trouble writing Avisa, where she belongs, that sort of thing. Although, I think this summary works, much, much better... Who knows, Icarus might get his own log soon enough, but there's so much lore on him already lmfao.
Plus- do expect me to expand on the sea-life and monsters of skin to scales, I especially have been in an ocean mood to draw mermaids, sirens, monsters, all that sort of fun stuff- also still expect more kobold and scalebold stuff in the future too- the cult of the gourmand and devourer stuff is almost "finished" in a state I would like it before I move onto the warrior of the pillars and the stars again-
Until next time lads! Have a good one!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
