Pixel animation - Ferret and Squirrel
Years ago I worked for a company called Davidson & Associates (later to become Knowledge Adventure) and I worked on a bunch of children's educational software titles where I animated characters in pixel style. It was my first job out of college and I loved the opportunity to do work that was related to the video game art style that I'd loved for so many years. The fact that the games were for elementary school children or below (for awhile I worked on a project that was aimed at infants which I termed as "droolware") didn't bother me at all. Most of the work I did was forgettable but some of the work I enjoyed enough to modify and keep as animated .gif files outside of the native sprite format. These pieces aren't anything fantastic, but I thought folks might find them interesting enough to share here.
I can't remember now how this animation was used ingame... regardless it's also a bit out of whack since ferrets once again aren't burrowing animals. I'll always try to draw ferrets when I can however so why not? A ferret it was destined to be!

HEYO! I'd like to see a ferret burrow into dirt, particularly if you were on hand to point and laugh at the spectacle. I still have strong memories of your entertainment about Nile freaking out over the tomato.
I'm not sure how you'd go about working with those animations these days. I still have an old copy of Spritemaker and Sam's Tools, but who knows if they'll work under the current Windows OS. I still have access to these .gifs because I converted them shortly after creating them in the first place. I don't know if I could do the same anymore with other animations. I'd be amused to pull out the old gnat-zapper run cycles again.
BTW, you should recognize this guy: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5288335/
