Pixel animation - Link Bird

Years ago I worked for a company called Davidson & Associates (later to become Knowledge Adventure) and I worked on a bunch of children's educational software titles where I animated characters in pixel style. It was my first job out of college and I loved the opportunity to do work that was related to the video game art style that I'd loved for so many years. The fact that the games were for elementary school children or below (for awhile I worked on a project that was aimed at infants which I termed as "droolware") didn't bother me at all. Most of the work I did was forgettable but some of the work I enjoyed enough to modify and keep as animated .gif files outside of the native sprite format. These pieces aren't anything fantastic, but I thought folks might find them interesting enough to share here.
This piece started off as a clickable item from a hide and seek game for a Captain Kangaroo title. I had it in mind that I could use the animation as a graphic for my website so I added in the little "links to other sites" bit.

OP
Hah, that's cool. Knowledge Adventure (and before that Davidson & Associates) put out what I termed as "Vegetableware", which basically meant that nobody really bought our games because they actively *LIKED* them, but because they had the vague sense that buying them was good for you. I know that our titles sold, but I never felt like we had much of a following, but every now and then I hear comments like yours that tell me people actually DID play those games and had some good memories of them. It's good to hear, -thank you!
