You're young. barely a cycle old.
there used to be another here. another of you. you remember them. you remember how bold they were. you remember their song. you sing it yourself now. every day as you sit near this tiny lake.
this is your home. it always has been.

you've made a deal with the demon that lives in the lake. a monstrous crocodile. it could swallow you whole yet you trust it completely. with every feather that coats your hide. the old beast is gentle with you. you know every scar crossing its beautiful, monstrous face.
the Demon doesn't speak to you. its never spoken to you.
All you must do is not flinch when the demon lunges. when it snaps down on prey and drags them into the water to struggle and drown in his jaws.
in return, you are safe here.
