“I always had clear that the day I started my Pokémon Journey I would chose Charmander as my starter Pokémon. Which I did when the day arrived. But while I had planned well in advance which would be my starter Pokémon there still would be a surprise in store for me as when Charmander and I first met I quickly caught on that the flame at the tip of his tail was of a blue color. When asked, Professor Oak explained that despite my initial concern it didn’t mean Charmander was sick but quite the opposite, that it was blue signified that Charmander’s inner flame was stronger than other Charmander. And thus on that day Charmander, who I nicknamed Charlie, not only joined me in my Journey as my starter Pokémon but also was the first of my team ‘Top Percentage’ Pokémon. As of today Charlie is still by my side, now evolved into a Charizard and acting as my team’s leader, but still as easygoing and confident in his own abilities as when we first met. And I wouldn’t want him any other way.”
