So it's no secret that most of my characters are pretty goody two shoes/talons. Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic depends, but ultimately still good.
But Aikine is forming up differently in my head, where she's more of a playful, semi-bad girl. Not outright evil, but definitely a different style, more in the True Neutral or Chaotic Neutral areas.
And I really like power dynamics in TF, but most often my characters are victims...but Aikine being an arcanist gives some new opportunities, and it's not out of character for her to use them.
So apparently the king who hired her got on her nerves a bit too much and she's reminding him not to meddle in the affairs of wizards overmuch.
Brought to life by Shiro.
AIkine (and the king, for however long he lasts) is mine.

"Sire, I may be no king, but I believe the King has a meeting with the chancellor of the exchequer tomorrow to discuss the proposed new road tolls and their impact on salt merchants and the associated preserved fish, followed by a discussion with the Privy Council regarding proposed royal charters. The Worshipful Company of Cheesemongers and the Guild of Sail-Makers and Darners have both filed letters of complaint alleging illegal imports by the Merchant's Association, but then there is the matter of tarrifs... are you quite sure you wish to be king?"
There's a what-if story in one of the Marvel comics the plays with a similar idea - if Dr Doom wins. He's a tyrant, but as he is still bound by his own sense of honor to be the best tyrant he can he swiftly brings about world peace and is is well on the way to ending poverty, hunger and disease.... but he also finds himself so immersed in the endless meetings and procedure of running an entire civilisation, that his victory soon turns to depression. He can't enjoy ruling the planet when he is spending his life marching from one tedious meeting to another.
