While Siobhan was being worked on I thought to myself. I want a death omen. A more proper. Less vengeful death omen. And so I stumbled upon the Bean-Nighe. A type of banshee from Scotland who funnily enough is canonically thicc. Also that little fang of hers is actually longer than her other teeth. Anyway. On to the lore!

Amelia had always fulfilled her duty to the world faithfully. No matter what people thought. No matter what people say. Amelia knew the truth of her work. And that was enough. As a Bean-Nighe. Her duty was to wash the clothes of those who were soon to die. Cleaning it of earthly filth so that they might have something to wear in the next life. Guiding them herself.
In the past. She was falsely accused of bringing death to mortals. After she washed the clothes of a congregation at the local church. 20 garments for 20 souls. Who were all crushed to death by the building collapsing. A part of her always wondered if the builders for the church used her legend as a scapegoat. But it didn't matter. She greeted them all in the next life with a warm smile. And freshly cleaned and dried clothes. And that was more important than any rumors.
Nowadays she fulfills her duty in the manors lake now that humans were so much less forgiving. And their rivers had all been too polluted to clean properly. Soap wouldn't wash out the unseen filth. The stains that come from sin. From desire. But every human had the right to sin. It was in their natures after all. Especially as children to be a little greedy. Of course. Some stains could never be cleaned. The sin of murder for selfish gain. The sin of denying ones freedom. The sins that come as a result of never considering others. They would still be led to the next life. But their sins would stain them for all time.
During her time at the manor. Thalia was eventually bound to her new home. And being the only other ghost. Thalia was quickly drawn to her. Feeling much more comfortable. Eventually learning how to wash clothes from her. Thus taking on her role as the washer for the living.
As for Amelia's life. It was a much happier affair for her than her other ghostly residents. She had a good family. A loving husband. And the prospects of a child. But unfortunately. Not all good things can come to pass. She died in childbirth. And so too did her child. Her husband lived on. But she could no longer be a part of his world. She's since moved on however. Being much more willing to talk. And even date on occasion. All while faithfully fulfilling her duties
