Just a quick reference of Aakaama and the Nagassa.

The Nagassa were a subspecies of dragon of which some of the current day serpent folk descended.
All Nagassa were dark skinned with blue eyes and a crest of fout horns, and despite living underground they had wings capable of short distance flight, but they could fly longer distances by using their unique type of magic. Not much is known about the magic they used but the strange crystals spread across their cities and set in their jewelry might have played a role in it, perhaps as a focus or as a battery of sorts. Whichever the case their magic was powerful enough to rival that of the dragons and the two races would go to war with eachother, though nothing is known about that time period as it was stricken from recorded history by the dragon and eventually nobody even remembered the Nagassa ever existed. Was it the war that caused them to fade from history or was it their ancient magic which was their undoing, or perhaps both?
