Now this one I'm very proud of the lore I came up with. I think I did pretty good. And I couldn't have done it without the amazing Sinematyc on Instagram linked here https://www.instagram.com/sinematyc/?hl=en
Put in a lot of work for Siobhan. (Pronounced like Shevaughn). A vengeful spirit turning over a new leaf. Well read on if you wish to know more~

Siobhan's father was a cruel man in life. A wicked miser who had control of the towns only source of safe drinking water. Which he used to get a hefty share of the profits from all of the poor farmers. But even the village didn't know the full depths of his cruelty. Beating his daughter well into her adult years. And though she could never prove it. Siobhan believed strongly that he was the reason her mother died. The villagers however. Blind to what happened inside the household. Always turned their eyes when she walked by. Believing her to be spoiled by her father.
Her only comfort in life was her horse. Spirit. A fine steed who seemed to be the only creature on earth who was ever happy to see her. Warm and caring. Her daily rides were the only chance she had to get away from it all. The abuse and the shouting. The disdain of the village. It all felt like it drifted away when she rode spirit. But her life could never have been considered fair. And soon she would lose even the few joys she had.
She awoke to the scent of smoke and the sounds of shouting. A crowd of the local peasants gathered outside to rebel against her father. And her. She got up quickly. Snuck out a shattered window towards the stables. Thinking this might finally be her chance to leave. To get away from this horrible place. Now that her father couldn't look for her. But reality is never so fair as that. As she tried to ride away. She could feel spirit collapse underneath her. Causing her to fall. Looking back and seeing a thrown pitchfork embedded into the horses side. And she had no knowledge of medicine to save him. The fall had injured her. But she would never leave shadow behind regardless. Until she was grabbed from behind by one of the villagers. And dragged off. Tears streaming down her face and begging for someone. Anyone to save Spirit as she watched her horse slowly die.
She was dragged off to the gallows. Watching as the peasants first brought her father up to the guillotine and chopped off his head. Cheering. Ready for more blood. Seeing her father die was the only kindness she had ever been given. But it was quickly put to an end as she took was forced up to the guillotine. No longer having the will to fight it. Without Spirit. What did she have left to fight for. And she felt it as the guillotine swiftly brought her life to an end.
She awoke again. Days later. Already on top of her now equally headless horse Spirit. Head in her arms. And knowing exactly what she is and what she must do. Riding into town to exact her vengeance. The villagers at this point had all looted her father's manor for coin. They were no different. They didn't kill for his cruelty. They killed for their own greed. And she would not be merciful. Riding into town come midnight. And riding up to the only house with the lights still on. Throwing a feast to celebrate her father's death. HER death. Shouting to the villagers inside.
"Your hands stained red with my blood shall receive no forgiveness. I mark this household. And all who reside here. You have 24 hours to live."
One of the villagers looked outside. Screamed at the sight of the dead walking. As Siobhan pulled out her own spine. Now meaningless for her incorporeal body. And used it as a whip to lash at the wooden door. Creating a large hash in the wood. A gash that bled a bright crimson. As though it were alive. This would be her symbol of death. "Make peace while you still can" she thought. As she rode off.
The villagers who lived in that home all died the next day. An unknown illness. That struck them with excruciating pain before they died. And everyone in that household knowing they would share the same fate. And so it continued. Every week at midnight they would hear the beating of hooves and the crack of her whip. And soon after another would die. Some tried to leave. But those who did rapidly started to decompose the second they left the villages border. There was no escaping this fate.
Until at long last. There was only one household left. And Siobhan approached it. Ready to complete her vengeance. Yet. She was greeted by a different sight. The family stood outside on their knees. And Siobhan could notice the frightened look of two children in the household. Peeking out the door. Before the father spoke.
"Please miss. We know what we did to you. And we seek no forgiveness. But please. Spare our children. They did nothing wrong. They were hidden in the house while everything happened."
Siobhan took a closer look. It was clear just how poor this family truly was. Seemingly gaining none of the fortune her father left behind. And seeing the state of this house. And how young the children were. She knew they couldn't survive on their own.
"Raise your heads. For I shall spare not just your children. But you as well. But do not mistake this as forgiveness. And I have conditions. Firstly. You shall always care for your children. And never let them come to harm. And secondly. I want you to gather the riches my father amassed. And leave this place to give your children a better life. Should you break these conditions. Then I shall return to finish my work."
They couple was speechless. Before thanking her in tears for her kindness. Even as she turned away and galloped off into the night. She met Miyuki soon after. And now losing her purpose in her afterlife. Decided to join the household.
Years later. The couple remained on their death bed. Now naturally rather than by her curse. They had kept their word. And one last time. They could hear the galloping of hooves at midnight. She walked into the home with no resistance. And stood by their bedside. Looking down at them. But this time. With her head put back on.
"I free you both from my curse. Allow me to thank you for keeping your words. By guiding you myself."
Their spirits were released from their bodies soon after. And Siobhan guided them both to the afterlife. Her duty finally fulfilled. Smiling as she rode back towards the manor
