Young Flickie has traveled to the distant land of Centra for safety from a coming war. Far from danger, he finds himself, for the first time, really being able to be a child. Really being able to make a friend. But with will he be able to keep his friend when he must eventually return home?

A gift story for my good friend  Catt who has been having a rough time of late. I wanted to write something to cheer her up a bit. She requested a story from her characters' childhood. It took me far longer to write than it should have, I'm sorry to say. I'm told, though, that I did a fair job of representing everything, given my limited knowledge of her universe. And now I have leave to share it with all of you! Enjoy!
